Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why can't I get perfect binding for my book?

A: Perfect binding, in addition to being more expensive, has a tendency to 'break' along the spine when opened flat, especially in smaller books. We do not offer perfect binding for both these reasons.

Q: Why can't my book be longer than 50 pages long?

A: In certain circumstances, and with the payment of a premium, it can. The most expense in self publishing is in the papers. NRP uses premium 40-60 lb. interior papers and 60 lb. coverstock standard in all our books. In addition, we offer a premium 20 lb. tissue vellum sheets, and two pages of full color, also standard. 50 pages is the maximum length we can offer our clients using such premium papers, superior production and quality, and still maintain our reasonable costs to you.

Q: Why is the ISBN so costly?

A: We do not set the price for ISBN listings. It's a monopoly and they didn't ask us. However, we do offer, as part of the ISBN pricing, a personalized web-site listing (with color cover of your book and all ordering information) as well as listings in all major on-line book sellers such as Barnes&Noble, Amazon.com, Borders, BooksAMillion, etc. If you are using your book as a gift, or selling it yourself, an ISBN is not necessary and we don't encourage it.

Q: How long after ordering my book can I expect it to arrive?

A: Standard delivery time is 3 weeks from receipt of order.

Q: What is the method of payment?

A: All payments may be made by personal check or money order or international payment coupon. We do not accept credit cards as the premium we must pay to do so would make us raise the pricing plans on our books. All payment is in advance and should be included with your returned contract.
